Doug Vining Bitcoin threatening human rights?

Unless our contrary scenario of quantum computing disrupting the crypto mining party comes to fruition, we might well see a battle for electric power between the coin miners and urban communities. Yet another study by Morgan Stanley has predicted that Bitcoin's energy consumption will surge.

The alternative view is that new efficiencies will avert a crisis, but then there's always the threat of electric cars causing grid lockdown. Which could make the whole struggle between the rich (who have cars and bitcoins) and the poor, who just want reading light and refrigeration.

At some point, if renewables create surpluses, a minimum amount of electric power should become a basic human right.
