Now that Microsoft has decided on a new CEO with a new vision for the company, it makes sense to bring Bill back into the process of creating the new products and services that will give life to that vision. But in time, after Microsoft has surged to a new peak, we might see the scenario developing that we posed in this MindBullet, and Silicon Valley (in its broadest sense) will lose its importance as a focal point for innovation, and domination of the tech we all use daily.

Doug Vining Clash of the Tech Titans

In this struggle, the corporate market is the prize. Who will win the battle, Microsoft or Apple? Or will it be Google, or possibly Amazon? Are the old giants like IBM going to survive? It could be a fight to the death, for some.
