Doug Vining India's youth league

India has 560 million young people under the age of 25. That's a staggering number of labour market entrants or would-be entrepreneurs. Will this prove to be an asset or a liability in the future? Which of these countries will thrive? One thing's for sure, the next generation will have to find new models of employment and economic participation - the old paradigm just won't be relevant any more!

Neil Jacobsohn Technology and jobs - is there a balance?

In a wold where unemployment is becoming a global scourge, the debate on whether or not technology is destroying jobs is a critical human debate. At the same time, there is surely no turning the clock back - we can't go back to the "simple" (and dirty and unhygienic and brutal) days before technology. So how do we bridge the gap of a world made better by technology unemployed?
Professor Erik Bryjolfsson from MIT has become an important voice in this debate, not least with his stark statement that there is no law of nature that states that technological progress must benefit everyone.
It's an important debate for you to consider and ponder.
