Steve Sidley Murdoch

hmm. The users that were responsible for the social networking phenomenon are not to be underestimated. Any hint of 'big corporateness' and they may flee (the primary reason that Microsoft's faliling attempts in this space has failed, is that they are seen as grey suits).

There is far less stickiness in this stuff than one might think, and a viral anti-Murdoch campaign, plus a cool new place to hang out, may upset the corporate apple cart.

On the other hand, Murdoch is absolutely the smartest guy around media, no one else comes close. So if anyone can pull this off, he can.

Neil Jacobsohn Good co vs. Crap co!

The market is a tough place in this naked world! I was struck by the descriptions the analysts have come up with for the two companies into which the Murdoch empire has been split. They're calling the business with the television, movie and broadcast businesses "good co"....and the company with 130 newspapers, including the Wall Street Journal and The Times...wait for it...."crap co"!
It's a long, long way from our 2007 MindBullets scenario on Murdoch and his antics.
A FuturesForum post (titled: "Good co vs. Crap co!") refers to this MindBullet. The full FuturesForum post can be read here:
