In an attempt to make free Wi-Fi access pay back, Google is planning to use a strategy similar to that of cellular broadcasting on mobile phones to target users ads' exactly to the block or two which can pick up a specific Wi-Fi transmitter.The move comes as a blanket city-wide system was awarded in San Francisco to Google.

Anton Musgrave Trust is broken - we need an age of 'honesty'!

Trust has been broken...in many institutions and agencies that previously relied on trust as the core of their value propositions. Once again, we are confronted with claims of 'price fixing' or 'manipulation' of sorts in yet another industry. It's time for business and political leaders to own up...trust can't be fixed...it's too broken. So let's just all embrace an era of 'honesty' and let's hope that over time we can rebuild 'trust' as we once knew it!

Doug Vining Trust in a world of deep fakes

I can see a future where each of us has a personal AI agent which acts as a kind of trust bodyguard, flagging any incoming call or media that might be fake. If AI can create deep fake videos and voices, surely AI can recognise which ones are real, and which are fake? We won't be able to discern the difference.

Oh yes, we wrote a MindBullet on this topic, long before Google Duplex was demonstrated...
