A tax on robots

Back in February 2015 we wrote about a tax on robots. The European Parliament has just rejected this idea, while passing new regulations on AI and introducing an insurance scheme for driverless cars. But with robots, automation and AI set to wipe out billions of 'human' jobs, how long before the idea of a tax on robots is back before the legislators of the world?
