Mexico's choices

Our recent MindBullet suggested that Mexico would be the star of the Latin American show in the future. That could still happen, but the Economist points out that reality is signalling differently. Growth forecasts have been revised downwards to a more humble 3.1%. But even that is significantly higher than say, Spain, albeit less than half the forecast for China.

The point here is that these are short-term reality checks. The future is still in the hands of Mexico's leaders. Will they make the right choices? SmartPlanet asks if Mexico can dismantle its monopolies in this cautionary article. The final question of this piece is also worth quoting:
