A chip in the brain

Almost a year ago we published a MindBullet about the future when people can have super-human intelligence by adding memory chips to their brains. What I didn't realise at the time, was that, according to Patrick Dixon, almost half a million people already have digital devices in their heads, presumably for medical reasons. That begs the question, not only would you wear a chip in your head, but who will be allowed to? Only medically impaired patients or anyone who can afford it?
